ISRIB was reported by Peter Walter's group at UCSF to restore learning & memory in brain-injured and elderly mice by modulating the Integrated Stress Response via eIF2B. Featured in peer-reviewed journals (Science, eLife, Nature).
ISR activation
Stress triggers eIF2α phosphorylation and translation shut-down.
eIF2B modulation
ISRIB binds eIF2B to counteract the inhibition.
